Built Lean: how PathShift practices what it sells
01 The Challenge
When PathShift launched, the plan wasn't to hire a team or outsource the busywork of running a consultancy. It was to build the same kind of lean, AI-threaded tooling we recommend to clients, and use it to run the business itself.
02 The Approach
The scope of work for every PathShift engagement starts with a purpose-built AI tool, not a blank page. It's trained on PathShift's own engagement standards and contract terms, drafts a first pass of the SOW, and a human reviews and finalizes it before anything goes to a client. The diagnostic tool on the PathShift website, the one that asks a short set of questions and routes the answers into a gap summary mapped to the right service area, runs on the same kind of AI threading PathShift builds for clients.
03 The Result
PathShift didn't just learn lean operations by working inside other companies' systems. It built its own company that way first. A small team operates like a much larger one, without taking on the overhead of one.
